Local Eats: Eureka! Burger

For all the locals in San Diego, you know how everyone goes to only Fashion Valley Mall... well, let me tell you that UTC Mall is completely remodeled and it's awesome. They also added new restaurants like True Food (also in Fashion Valley), and last week I had lunch at their new restaurant Eureka! Burger and it's delicious.

I forgot to take pictures as I was too hungry and just wanted to devour the food, but I tried their truffle fries and cowboy burger (added blue cheese) and they were yummy! I will have to go back with the excuse to take pictures of the place and their food ;) No prob!
(Did find some pics online for now)

So there you have it, who would've thought I could get so excited over a restaurant that is at a shopping mall.

Local Eats: Cody's

As you may know my absolute fave breakfast choice has to be Eggs Benedict and my favorite places to have it at are The Cottage or Bernini's, both in La Jolla. Their eggs Benedict are delicious!

My friend dare me to try her favorite, Cody's, also in La Jolla, CA.
I have to admit its pretty good, but my faves are still the same. But the ambiance and place is so cute and charming to hang out and have a good breakfast or meal. I put my seal of approval.

Local Eats: The Coffee Cup...

The Coffee Cup it's a great place for breakfast, but can't say the same about their consistency in service. Last time I went the service wasn't so great, but the time before it was. Food for the majority it's good, but some ridiculous extra charges might apply. $$

La Jolla, CA 92037

Full Breakfast & Lunch Menu here

By far one of the best Mexican hot chocolate I have ever had.
Their Breakfast Burrito it's pretty good.

Coffee Cup French Toast it's kind of a cinnamon roll style, sounds better than it is.
Add of 2 strips of bacon $3.-
They bring you fake maple syrup, if you want the real deal it's extra. Charge $1.50

Local Eats: My 3 go-to*to-go desserts…

Let’s forget about the big franchises for a little bit and keep it local with these 3 amazing and delicious places.

Rose Donuts
5201 Linda Vista Rd Ste 100
San Diego, CA 92110
Open daily: 24/7
CASH ONLY
Donuts. Family run, been around for at least 10 years, they have great assortment of flavors, always fresh and fluffy, clean place, friendly staff, they also serve breakfast and they are not pricey. You have to try them out, you will not be sorry. I promise!

--------------------------------------------------------

Dolci Mango
7521 Fay Avenue
La Jolla, CA 92037
Open daily: 8am-7pm
Frozen Yogurt. This might be a small franchise name, but the family that run it are super nice and will always greet you with a smile. I almost always stop by after Monday work (have to treat myself) to get their delish frozen yogurt (my current obsession). The place is always spotless and you will be surprised that they also have sushi, smoothies, European type sandwiches, breakfast menu and free wi-fi!
So stop by, try it out, bring a friend or your laptop and enjoy.

The Cookie Lady
7596 Fay Avenue
La Jolla, CA 92037
Open Monday-Saturday: 8am-6pm
www.lajollacookielady.com

Cupcakes. This hidden small spot it’s a pleasure to find. I haven’t found a better (and I have looked for) red velvet cupcake. So I had to ask them to make me a red velvet cake for Thanksgiving dinner last year, my whole family and guests loved it. The other cakes and cupcakes are delicious too, but that red velvet cupcake makes me fall in love with life all over again.
Funny thing is that besides the sweets, you will also find Moroccan style food such as hummus, gyros, salads, and sandwiches, which are good but odd because it doesn’t go with their shop name. If you like red velvet, please do yourself a favor and go get yourself one. They are $4 dlls but they are pretty big and definitely worth it.

Local Eats: Tre Porcellini...

Tre Porcellini it’s a modern Italian food restaurant. I recently tried it out because I had bought some time ago a Groupon. The place is cute, our waiter was a little moody, the food was ok. I guess its one of those places you have to know what to order. Overall 3 stars.

Tre Porcellini
1417 University Avenue
San Diego, CA 92103
(619) 294-9201

Open Daily:
Mon-Thu, Sun ~ 4-10pm
Fri-Sat ~ 11:30am-11pm

You can find their menu here!

As soon as you seat they bring out bread and this olive oil/tomato spread. Delicious.

I ordered the Beef Carpaccio and it was good.

~I had the Penne Carbonara and the creamy sauce had
an overpowering taste, couldn’t finish it.
~My sis had the Pappardelle alla vodka, although the
sauce was really good, it came with smoked and
fresh salmon. A little too fishy.
~My friend had the Vitello Saltimbocca and it was pretty good, and the roasted rosemary potatoes were delish.

I am not a coffee lover, but this Tiramisu was a O.K.
Loved that they had a 5KG Nutella jar!

Like I mentioned before I used my Groupon,
so here is the process to redeem it on you smartphone.

My beau and niece had this one and they said they really liked it. They added bacon and avocado.

Of course I got my punch card, I plan on coming back soon.

This is how Living Social works…
Upon ordering I presented my discounted deal and they gladly accepted it.

Check out their menu here, they have tons of options.

Visit them and enjoy, I surely did!
